Defend Amazonia 2

It's up to everyone of us,
to speak out and to defend Amazonia,

to defend the Amazonas River, the Xingu River ...

to defend every river in Amazonia ...

to defend all creatures who live in Amazonia,

all the indigenous tribes, all the animals and plants ...

to defend all life in this beautiful part of Mother Earth,
this planet's largest tropical rainforest.

Water is life.

We need to defend Amazonia, together!

The Dignity of Man is unimpeachable!

in remembrance of

all victims of intolerance

Hands
1993, MonotypePainting on paper, 100x70 cms

THE DIGNITY OF MAN IS UNIMPEACHABLE

The cruelties of human life I can not ignore.
I am a human being. A human being who is a painter.
My artwork is inspired by this blue planet.
All life on this planet, Nature, Humans and Animals in all their beauty
influence my artwork.

Constantly human beings destroy nature and human life on this planet.
Their reasons are many: money, power, megalomania, intolerance, racism ...
Daily violence, rape, torture, wars, massacres, genocides,
crimes and destruction of nature and homes ...
all this terror, all this killing I can not ignore.
I am also responsible  . . .

Everyone has the right to speak out!

Yes, I have a voice,

and I say

honour killings must end, stop the intolerance,

end sexual harassment and rape,
women must have the same rights as men,

. . .
It's up to everyone to speak out for peace and say "No" to war!,

it's up to everyone not to join an army,
drones are terror and they create more terror,

the support of dictatorregimes, warlords, mercenaries must be stopped,
No military trials for Civilians, no dictatorship,

. . .
Stop the inhumane treatment of refugees,
. . .
stop belo monte dam,
stop corruption,

stop megalomaniac and inhuman politics,
the destruction of nature has got to stop!,
the killing of people because of construction projects has to stop!,
Indigenous people and their rights must be respected!
. . .

Respect minorities independent from their origin and faith,
an isolated life in containers is no "proper housing", this is inhuman,
. . .
the death penalty must be abolished worldwide,
. . .
No faith and nothing justifies the torture and killing of people,
Nothing justifies the imprisonment, torture, killing of children,
it is more than a shame that for many children the road is their home.
. . .

It was hard work to create the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/index.shtml
We must defend them together!,

. . .

Unfinished, as the Egyptian and Tunisian Revolution
Acrylic paint on canvas, April 2013, 120x80 cms

The daily racism, intolerance and violence must end . . .
Our basic and universal human rights must be respected!

Every human being on this planet has the same rights!
We are all equal. We are all one family!

It's up to everyone . . . There are many ways
to express feelings, thoughts, opinions ...

Nobody and nothing can stop the spirit of freedom!

"... an egyptian man tweeted that it would not be the right time for the women in Egypt to go to the streets and demand their rights. I do not agree with this guy.
And I remember a woman's reply, saying HOW LONG shall we wait when we listen to others?, and she said that the women do not wait - and the women and mothers took the streets for demand their rights !

This exhibition did not wait, we artists did not wait, in these election times of choosing between the One or the Other, with no clear statement for future regards all the political prisoners and in face of the continuing crimes against women, girls, in view of the daily sexual harassment. We did not wait - and we do not wait - we go on - together, women and men, sons, daugthers, mothers and fathers.

This exhibition is one step in our long march for to bring an end to sexual harassment - it is a long and stony road, with many walls, but we go it together and we will not give up! ..."

(Excerpt from my greetings to the visitors of the exhibition opening.)
The streets are our's, too!

Testimonies on the Recent Sexual Assaults on Tahrir Square Vicinity
"... Nazra for Feminist Studies is publishing three testimonies of women who were sexually assaulted by a mob on Mohammed Mahmoud Street on Saturday, 2 June. The collective sexual assault and harassment that took place on the vicinity of Tahrir Square on June 2 and 8, 2012 shed light on the gravity of sexual harassment and assault on Egyptian streets. Although the three testimonies do not account for the entirety of the brutality that many women experienced on that Saturday and the Friday after, they are one example that offers a window to the dynamics of mob sexual assault and harassment on those two days, which are not the first of its kind."

8. Januar, 18:00 – 21:00

No Military Trials For Civilians!

In Egypt more than 12.000 humans, including children, faced unfair military trials
by the military regime scaf since the downfall of dictator mubarak - and the new government
has not stopped this, it continues.

Peaceful protestors were detained and imprisoned. Many of them were convicted on false accusations.
Family members, friends, lawyers, when they asked for the detained, they got also detained and imprisoned.
Also passers-by who were in the area, and had not at all the intention of joining a protest or demonstration
- even children - were beaten, arrested, tortured, kidnapped, detained, sentenced to long prison terms
or even got killed.

The Rights of Freedom of opinion and expression,
the freedom of speech,
the freedom of blogging,
the freedom of peaceful meetings
and peaceful protests,

all human rights must be guarantee - and respected !

I support NoMilTrials-Group in Egypt!
I am a Civilian and I do NOT accept, in no case, NEVER,
to be taken to a military court!
No Civilian should be taken to a military court!

I say NO to military trials for civilians!

All political prisoners must be released immediately!

military trials for Civilians must DISAPPEAR
in EVERY country on this planet!
