Where are you from?

Where are you from?

Where are you from?

Where are you from?
I come from the night without stars, a vanished sun
Where are you from?
I come from the Living Dead, from poisoned waters
Where are you from?
I come from the hills of despair
Where are you from?
I'm dying I am alive and I am dying
Where, tell me, where do you come from?

Below this sky
azure
between sea and mountains, rivers

here we made love.
In the clear water we bathed.
We made love under olive trees.
The earth fed us and our children.

Thousands of extinguished stars.
The moon is crying.
The Earth is burning.
Destroyed disappeared our homes and gardens.

Our olive trees tortured
as our loved ones
murdered in the dungeon.

Where are you from?

Wherever you come from . . . You are welcome!

Woher kommst Du?

Woher kommst Du?

Woher kommst Du?
Woher, sag mir, woher kommst Du?

Unter diesem Himmel
azurblau
zwischen Meer und Bergen, Flüssen

hier liebten wir uns.
Wir badeten im klaren Wasser.

Liebten wir uns unter Olivenbäumen.
Die Erde ernährte uns und unsere Kinder.

Tausende verloschener Sterne.
Der Mond weint.
Die Erde brennt.
Zerstört verschwunden unsere Häuser und Gärten.
Unsere Olivenbäume gefoltert
wie unsere Liebsten
in den Kerkern ermordet.

Woher kommst Du?

Wo auch immer Sie herkommen . . . Sie sind willkommen!

Learning together

- updated 19 dec 2015 -

Monday, 24 august 2015

My first day with the people of the refugee camp.
I had wanted to paint inside the camp with children for free, but I was not allowed / accepted by the responsibles.

So I joined a volunteer group who works outside the camp.
Never I will forget this first day drawing and learning german with children from Syria.

Since Tuesday, 25 august, I learn with adults the german language.

in the early saturday afternoon, 29 August 2015
Drawings by kurdish children from Syria.

When I close my eyes now, I still can see you,
as you came with your Mother to my table
and we spoke the first words together ... on that beautiful day.

Wednesday, 2 September 2015

Never I will forget you, Mr. K.
from Damascus, Syria,
when you spoke german with a smile.
You learned good and so fast, for many hours every day.

Thursday, 10 September 2015

These panels I had created in the beginning and I used them in my lessons.
They are still in the tent for everyone to use them.

Saturday, 12 September 2015

Willkommen! Salam aleikum!
Welcome!
Learning the german language with refugees from Syria, Palestine,
Afghanistan on this saturday morning . . .

The atmosphere is wonderful.
Everyone learns with absolutely greatest engagement!

Every day more and more people of the camp join our working groups - and also our team of volunteers grows daily.

Together we learn the german language, step by step.

We are a great family,
people from Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia,
Eritrea, Ethiopia . . . and from Germany.

A chalkboard was provided. I use them for my students.

What we all need: patience.

It is wonderful that the people are now here in safety!

But the german bureaucracy is terrible, is inhuman.

Thats why we say it again and again, and demand it:

What is needed as basic for every support is:
Menschlichkeit = Humanity
die Menschenwürde zu achten = to respect human dignity

!!! I demand
to respect the human dignity
of every single refugee !!!

5 november 2015: another morning of transfer.
We met at the camp in the early morning to say good-bye.

Saturday, 28 November 2015
Greetings to the students of our group
who had left the camp and now live in different cities.

For my students I have created our own "Memory",
one way of many to learn words and phrases.

This is so wonderful to share our joy!!!

Spas chosch, Thank you so much, my wonderful kurdish students
from Aleppo and Afrin, Syria.
We shared so many hours since the 18 september. You always inspire me!

Friday 11 december 2015: No more lessons in the tents.

The people will move from the big tents into a container-village.
It is planned that the lessons and workshops
for adults, mothers, children
will be continued then also in containers.

My support still goes on . . .

Dedicated to my students
in deep gratitude.

For your loyalty, for your confidence,
for your patience and understanding,
for learning together, for listening, for inspiration,
for your support in translating,
for learning me to speak a few words in Kurdish, in Arabic,
 for sharing time,

for all your smiles

for your esteem and love
. . .

Shukran  Spas chosch  Shukria

 Thank you so much !!!

You are in my heart!

Love and peace be with you!

Respektiert die Würde des Menschen!

#SOSeurope #Refugees #Fluechtlinge #Syria #Palestine #Afghanistan #Pakistan

#STOPracism #Deutschland

Various abuses in refugee camps and during transport / deportation in Germany,
caused by politics, bureaucracy, ignorance ... are not acceptable!

Gießen (Hessen), Deutschland:
Foto vom Donnerstag 17. September 2015,

Mitten in Deutschland.

__

Giessen (Hesse), Germany:
Photo from Thursday, September 17, 2015,
by a young Syrian man.

About 200 people, including families with children, were brought back this morning
at seven o' clock early from the first recording-camp for refugees in Bensheim (Kreis Bergstraße)
to Giessen. They arrived there and the majority of these people stood in the pouring rain,
and up to eight hours. Crying children, soaked to the skin and shivering.
In the 21st century. In the middle of Germany.

__

I speak here for the refugees, also I say this on behalf of many other german citizens
who share my opinion, that it is inhumane to leave people out in the cold, thus endangering
their health additionally, and not to give them information what will happen with them,
when and where  ...
This behavior of those responsible is unacceptable!

These people have fled from the terror of the war, they have endured an additional terror,

unimaginable suffering and violence in their escape, they have finally arrived here,
they seek refuge with us ...
they have a right to this refuge,
they have a right to life and to physical integrity.

The German policies, its institutions, including help organisations,
should finally act unbureaucratic, flexible and HUMANE, above all!
Not someday, but from now on, immediately !!
